SpongeBob and sex

Sex sells. SpongeBob sells.

But should the two of them be combined for a kids' meal sales pitch?

Burger King did.

An ad sparked a furor after it was aired during the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship game.

The frozen-faced King of the burger chain is featured singing and dancing a remake of Sir Mix-A-Lot's "Baby Got Back" from the 1990s.

The King gets close to some oddly squared women's derrierers, singing, "I like square butts and I cannot lie..." -- in reference to SpongeBob.

But the Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood has launched a letter-writing campaign demanding that Nickleodeon, from which SpongeBob hails, and Burger King pull the ads for SpongeBog SquarePants Kids Meals.

What do you think?

I think the funny part is, this song is 17 years old. Kids don't even get the reference to "Sir Mix-a-Lot's Baby Got Back" --- Way dust off that old gem there Burger King. :) What's next? I'm Too Sexy?

Hey Karen! It's Paige, your former co worker... I have to say that I thought these ads were odd but I don't know that I thought they were inappropriate. All of the Burger King ads seem odd lately though. I've never been a fan of that king guy... but maybe that's the point? I've had conversations about it so I guess it worked to bring the place to mind. not sure though :-S
